All Bilingualisms are Not Created Equal-- Guest Post

Educators unite: Statistics show that deaf children read better when they have access to both signed and  spoken language, as opposed to just one or the other.

Check out our guest post on Language on the Move's site.  Thanks, Language on the Move!

  1. If you accept the stance bi-lingual including sign use is, what you say it is, then why are deaf after time totally reverting to sign and making themselves dependent on translation ? It seems bi-lingual is an 'in' to total sign use, then deaf reject the rest to sign only, thus negating bi-linguality. The problem from the educational stance is deaf pretty much after using sign reject everything else !
